The Profound Words Of Amazinzay…

Downtime

Aug-16-2007

My site was down all day yesterday… I doubt many of you noticed as I do not post every day so you probably don’t check it every day… My older sister let me use her debit card to pay for my hosting service since I don’t have a credit or debit card. Well as it turns out she lost her card and didn’t tell me when she canceled it. So I now have it up and running again.

New Phone

Aug-11-2007

I wrote in my last post about losing my phone. I went to the Verizon store to get a new one and they told me that since I didn’t have insurance I would have to buy one at retail price. I looked around and found the cheapest phone I could, which was a very cheap looking phone, it had no camera, a very cheap looking LCD, and just an all around cheap feel and it was still $150. So after talking to the sales person, I decided to get a used one off Ebay. So I did some searching and finally decided on the LG VX8600 also known as the Flip-Chocolate.

LGvx8600

Ken has the same phone and is very pleased with it. I payed a total of $152.98 for both it and a charger, as the auction did not include one.  I have not received it, but I expect it to work out well. We will see.

Stolen

Aug-7-2007

So.. I decided I was going to start working out because I am super skinny, and have no muscle. So since swimming is supposed to be the best exercise, I went to patterson park to swim laps. I swam for about an hour and a half, then I went to get my stuff. I couldn’t find my cell phone, so I went back to look. I still couldn’t find it, and it occurred to me to check my wallet which had about $80 in it. It was empty. So apparently while I was swimming someone stole my $300 dollar cell phone and the $80 dollars from my wallet… needless to say I was MAD.

Wisdom 2

Jul-19-2007

Well I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday. My mouth is sore today. What really hurts is not my wisdom teeth, but I had my tongue clipped so I am not tongue tied anymore, so my tongue is very sore.

It was a very strange experience. I went in to the operating room and sat down in the chair, the nurse told me to roll up my right sleeve for the IV. She hooked up a blood pressure monitor to the other arm, but had to try three times and finally had me roll my sleeve up. I don’t do needles very well so when the doctor came in to give me the IV I looked away. The next thing I remember I was waking up in the chair and dad was sitting next to me. I don’t remember getting drowsy, or the room spinning or anything. It was kind of strange. I expected to at least feel drowsy or something. Oh well.

Wisdom

Jul-18-2007

I am getting my wisdom teeth taken out in about an hour and a half. I am not really nervous about it. The only thing that scares me is the IV, I can’t stand needles, I hate them. So the idea of them sticking one in my arm and not taking it right out is not pleasant.

First Day

Jul-8-2007

Well I had my first actual day of work last night. I worked from 6 until 11:30 at night. It started out with a girl showing me around telling me how to make stuff, and the weights of stuff. Then she showed me how to make the Dairy Queen Curl™ I tried doing it myself and failed miserably. Even by the end of the night I still couldn’t make a good curl. I  mostly made blizzards. They were fairly easy as long as you knew what to put in them. I am working again tonight from 4 until 9. Hopefully I will do better.

Orientation

Jul-5-2007

I had my Dairy Queen Orientation today. It was nothing real special. I filled out some paperwork and watched a couple of training videos… But I am getting paid for it, so that was pretty cool. I have to go back tomorrow for an employee meeting. I am pretty excited about working.

Job #2

Jul-4-2007

Well yesterday after getting a job at Dairy Queen, I got home and posted my previous post and just when I posted it I got a call from my sister Rebecca who said that she had been talking to the General Manager at Jim N’ Nicks and he might be interested in having me work as a Servers Assistant, so I drove back into town and met with the manager and we talked for a little bit. He had a lot of good things to say about our family. He said Rebecca had been in the top five servers for the past few months and Chris made top five last month. He suggested that I take the job at Dairy Queen and then when I have a schedule I can talk to him and he will give me a job and just work around my Dairy Queen hours. So I was pretty happy.

On a slightly less exciting note I went in to Dairy Queen today for job training but was told that they wouldn’t train me on the Fourth of July so I needed to come back tomorrow. So I ended up making a trip into town for nothing, I wasn’t very happy about that…. But such is life, and I will get over it.

Job

I got a job today. I start training tomorrow morning at Dairy Queen. I am excited, I have been looking since school ended. It is nice to finally get started making money.

License Hearing

Jul-2-2007

I went to Nashville today for the hearing about my license suspension. It was a lot different than I expected, I was expecting a court and judge and all that, but it turned out to just be one lady in her office. I took an oath, what was strange is that it wasn’t the normal “Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?” It was something like “Under threat of perjury, do you affirm that you will tell the truth to the best of your ability?” But she asked me what happened with my wreck and other questions, told me I has 4 points on my record for contributing to an injury wreck, which was also strange because I wasn’t injured in my wreck.

Anyway after it was all said and done I just have to go to an 8 hour drivers safety course. I get to keep my license, no big deal. :-)
