Ongoing…
So a week ago monday I was told by Cedar Hall that I was getting kicked out for sure. Well Dad wasn’t very happy with that so he asked the board to reconsider. They make the final decision on Sunday night. In the mean time I have been trying to figure out what to do about school. I went to Oakland and they said I could go there to finish out the year and take a one month economics course to graduate in June. I also went to Cannon County High and they put together a schedule to get me graduated on time. The only thing was, I went through the wrong door when I came in and ended up in the gym. So I asked a group of students where the office was. One of them offered to show me. On the way when I told her why I was there she told me that I really didn’t want to go there. By the time I had reached the office I had two students tell me not to come there because it sucked, one student ask if I smoked weed and one ask if I had ever had trouble with the cops. Also the principal told me that the students were “Good kids” but that they were “normal” and that I would have to get used to a lot of things because I came from a select group. The way she said it made it very obvious what she was talking about. The fact that just from walking in I had met a girl who smoked marijuana showed the type of “normal” she was talking about. I think my best option is to go to Oakland. That is what I am hoping to do.

that is a pretty flimsy argument… I’m pretty sure that that same exact thing could be said about any public school. The principal was right they are “normal” and that “normality” is going to be present no matter where you go. Just because the majority of the people that you know who went to Oakland are Christian doesn’t mean that they represent the majority of kids who attend Oakland. So if you are going to want to go to Oakland over Cannon County High you are going to need a better argument.
I understand that. This is all on top of other things I have heard about CCH from people that have gone there. I don’t know who told me, and I haven’t been able to verify this, but I was told that it is one of the number one drug trafficking schools in the state. I have been told by more than one person that the schools academics suck. If I was going to school I would at least like one that I learn something from. I know that is a poor argument, but given everything else I have heard, I would rather take an extra month at Oakland. I know that I am going to encounter people that do drugs, cuss etc. anywhere I go. I understand that this is “normal”. But I would rather not go to a school that has a reputation among bad schools as the worst.
So if you suddenly become highly creative all of a sudden I’ll know what questions to ask….
Are you trying to insinuate students at Oakland don’t smoke weed? I mean I would like to think they don’t but come on…
So… you’re not going to inform the world that you are now actually back in school and on track to graduate? Only bad news to the world?
Apparently…. It was pretty interesting to walk into physics and find Zay in the classroom, I really was not expecting that in any way, but congratulations on getting into a school to graduate, that’ll really help.
