Up Again
Well I went to update a couple of times over spring break but Mysql was messed up so I couldn’t. Everyone knows about my wreck on Sunday as I posted about it earlier. Besides that Spring Break was fairly boring until Friday. We had Trilogy rehearsals on Thursday and everything broke just before it started… After we finally got everything fixed and practice went ok Kenny decided that the tech crew had earned a say on the lake.
So Friday morning , Ken, Ryan, Jeremy and I all met at Kenny’s house. We went out to Breakfast and then headed to Percy Priest Lake. When we got in the boat and tried to start it the battery was dead. So we pulled up Kenny’s SUV and and jump started it. We got out to where we could tube and were a little concerned about killing the engine. We prayed a quick prayer and shut the engine off. Jeremy on it got on the tube and pushed off. After a little trouble the engine started. We pulled Jeremy for a while knocked him off a few times and then I went to get on. We decided that since the engines were having trouble we would try putting out without cutting them. After I had been on the tube a few seconds and Kenny started to move the boat away Ken said: “Kenny, you need to hurry the rope is going under the boat.” Kenny hit the gas and the engine suddenly quit. I pulled myself back and realized that the rope was up under the boat going into the engine.
After a long time of trying to get the rope out of the engine we finally realized that there was nothing we could do in the water. So Ken and I rowed the boat over to a pair of fishermen who were fishing nearby and asked for help. They told us that they were involved in a fishing tournament and could not help us. The owner of the nearby marina told us that the tournament prize money was practically nothing and that the fishermen just didn’t want to help us, so I was a little upset. Kenny said on his website: “…The whole walk to the marina I prayed that those men wouldn’t catch a single fish. I also prayed the wouldn’t catch a fish the next two times they went fishing. Figured that was enough punishment…”
So I pulled the boat to shore walking in the water, which was up about midway up my stomach, and Kenny and Ken walked to the marina and got help. All in all it was very interesting, I had fun though so it was ok.
