Glasses
I got some bad news today…
I had an eye doctor’s appointment today and after taking a look at my eyes the doctor told me: “Well you have definitely damaged the surface of your eye.”!!! He went on to inform me that blood vessels had grown in my eye as a result of wearing my contacts too much and never taking them out. The end result he told me: “You will go blind.” I was aghast and asked “Are you serious?” he assured me that he was and that if I continued to wear contacts for longer than I am supposed to I will go blind within 1-2 years. After discussing the options with my father the doctor decided that I should wear glasses for at least a year before wearing contacts again. So I had to pick out glasses and will have them by the end of the week, until such time I will be practically blind.
So yeah not a good day.
Wow, that’s amazing. I didn’t know that could happen with contacts. Considering what the doctor told you, I guess there isn’t much of a decision to make. I would consider it a small sacrifice to keep from going blind.
Wel… now you have to see like I do for a week :-p I kept telling you not to keep them in but I’m glad that you went soon enough that he could tell you how to prevent too much damage..
I’ve heard that wearing glasses severely hurts your peripheral vision. Is that true?
I’ve always had perfect vision, so I would not know.
