By saying "I Love you" to someone you raise the bar in a relationship. I have been where you are many times. God wired us to work the way you are working. Just remember to take your time. I tell girls that I love them and it is a completely different thing than what you are talking about... generally when people shy away from the word love it's another kind of love... that was too long sorry.
