The Profound Words Of Amazinzay…

Perfection

Apr-23-2006

Why do I try? If everyone is human and humans are prone to failure how do you please someone who refuses to acknowledge the things you do right and focuses on the things you do wrong? When people ask if you have done this, and that, and keep asking until they find something that you haven’t done, what do you do? What is the point of trying?

  1. Ken Said,

I must aim for perfection and strive to be Christlike. 2 Corinthians 13:11

You are not asked to be perfect, only to put forth you best effort. If you are doing the best you can do, who can ask for more?

  2. Reckless Mortal Said,

    Yea… that… what he said

  3. Hooper Said,

We are commanded to “be perfect, therefore, as you heavenly father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). But it doesn’t seem like you’re talking about God, because he doesn’t focus on what you do wrong, he forgets that when you ask for forgiveness. But I imagine that the person that “refuses to acknowledge the things you do right and focuses on the things you do wrong,” is someone that cares for you and wants to help you strive for perfection. This person may just not come across as caring or helpful, but truly does want to see you improve and grow. Also, if this person knows your potential and sees that you may not be reaching, he or she may be disappointed, but it is only out of their desire to see you be great. So don’t take someone’s disappointment and seemingly harsh words to mean that this person hates you or doesn’t believe in you, he or she just wants you to do what you should do and grow from it.
